Johan Harmen Rudolf Köhler adalah perwira KNIL yang memimpin ekspedisi pertama Belanda ke Aceh dengan sekitar 3.000 prajurit. Pasukannya mendarat pada 6 April 1873 dan merebut Masjid Raya Baiturrahman, tetapi ia tewas tertembak di dekat masjid pada 14 April 1873. Kematiannya memaksa ekspedisi ditarik dan menjadi latar maklumat Loudon pada Juni 1873.
Johan Harmen Rudolf Köhler was a KNIL officer who led the first Dutch expedition to Aceh with about 3,000 troops. His force landed on 6 April 1873 and took the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque, but he was shot dead near the mosque on 14 April 1873. His death forced the expedition’s withdrawal and formed the backdrop to Loudon’s proclamation of June 1873.
