Illiza Sa’aduddin Djamal appears twice in the ICMI Aceh regional board (Orwil Aceh) for 2026–2031: as Deputy Secretary of the Advisory Council (spelled ‘Ilmiza Sa’aduddin Djamal, MBA’) and as Deputy Chair of the Executive Board (‘Illiza Sa’adudin Djamal, S.E.’); both spellings appear to refer to the same person. The board was ratified by ICMI’s central leadership in Decree No. 041/SKO-P/ICMI/10/2026 following the 8th ICMI Aceh Regional Congress held in Banda Aceh on 12 September 2026. Born in Banda Aceh on 31 December 1973, she attended MIN Banda Aceh, an MTsN in Jakarta and a state senior high school in Banda Aceh, and completed studies at a management college (Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Manajemen) in 2006. A politician of the United Development Party (PPP), she sat on the Banda Aceh city council (2004–2006), served as Deputy Mayor of Banda Aceh under Mawardy Nurdin (2007–2014) and then as Mayor (2014–2017). She later represented the Aceh I constituency in the national House of Representatives (DPR RI, 2019–2024) and since February 2025 has again been Mayor of Banda Aceh, with Afdhal Khalilullah as deputy, the only woman mayor in Aceh. Her administrations are known for emphasising the implementation of Islamic sharia in the provincial capital.
